Monster Hunter (pictured above) just came out, but director Paul W.S. Anderson and his frequent star Milla Jovovich aren’t taking a break. Their next project was just announced: Anderson will direct an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s story “In the Lost Lands,” starring Jovovich and Dave Bautista.

Jovovich will play the sorceress Gray Alys, whose magical services are hired by a queen. To fulfill the queen’s wish, Gray heads into the lost lands with only Boyce (Bautista) as her guide.

“In the Lost Lands” was originally published in 1982. Writing on LiveJournal, Martin said it was originally meant to launch a series: “I had in mind a series of loosely connected tales about the enigmatic witch woman Gray Alys, and those who were brave or foolish or desperate enough to treat with her. But I never wrote that second story.” In the blog post from 2015, Martin said that Constantin Werner had optioned three of his stories (“In the Lost Lands” along with “The Lonely Songs of Laren Dorr” and “Bitterblooms”) and was combining them into one screenplay—which even then was going to star Jovovich.

It’s not clear if Anderson’s adaptation also involves all three stories, but Constantin Werner is a producer on In the Lost Lands. No production schedule or release date for the film has yet been announced.
